Bat night swim

Extra Night Swim Friday 1 September - Batfastleigh Special!

By popular demand, we're running an extra night swim on Friday 1 September.

Meet in Victoria Park Buckfastleigh at 19.30 and we will take a short walk through town to watch the emergence of hundreds of Buckfastleigh's incredibly rare population of Greater Horseshoe Bats. 

Experts will be on hand to tell you about these fantastic animals, and then, shortly after sunset, you will be able to observe several hundred bats as the start their night forage. Then it's a short walk back to the pool for a magical night swim in our lovely warm pool with water heated to 27 degrees. The pool area will be gently lit by twinkling candle lights and fairy lights and each swimmer will wear a coloured glow stick - creating a magical and fun event. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL BE LEAVING FROM VICTORIA PARK AT 19.30 TO WATCH THE BAT EMERGENCE. THE NIGHT SWIM STARTS BACK AT THE PARK AT 20.45 AND FINISHES AT 21.45. 

This is a fundraising special and tickets cost £15 and is suitable for people aged 12 and over.  Tickets are strictly limited to 30 and we expect this event to sell out quickly.  No refunds are possible unless the event is cancelled due to weather warnings.
